Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Town Mouse
Inconspicuous micro-pub opposite St Thomas' church green, but housed in a basement so hard to spot (even when close). Two small rooms have been opened out to fit in a few tables in the front bar and rear seating area, with the dark green tiles and paintwork meaning that it could be quite gloomy away from the front window but the light wooden furniture helps. With six handpumps on the counter, the cask ale range came from Pomona Island, Buxton, North Riding, Five Points and Torrside in addition to the Wylam Soul (£4.20). A good selection was available from seven of the eight craft keg taps on the bar-back too.

Easy to miss cellar micro next to ‘Spoons Five Swans. A single room going back a little way in an L shape and furnished with tables and chairs plus stools at drinking shelves. Six pulls and eight keg taps with a fridge of bottles and cans. Friendly and knowledgeable owner.

As others have said it is easy to walk straight past this one but I was looking for it! There was a small queue waiting for the door to open at 12. Great little micro with a really varied beer choice. We enjoyed the Bampa Best bitter and Wylam Fleek pale ale. Very chatty and knowledgeable staff. Well worth a visit.
